In what was highly anticipated and speculated on for months, today they made it official: American Airlines and US Airways will merge.

It's anyone guess how everything will play out, although I find it ambitious that they want to close it in the 3rd quarter of this year.
If I were you and you haven't already, you might want to get in on the US Airways card through Barclays - one link has already expired, and I can only find one remaining for a lesser offer. This would potentially give you some miles to "merge" when everything is figured out with the frequent flyer programs.
